Yanıbaşında (Solo Exhibition)
Created within Yves Rocher Foundation’s Plant for Life initiative, Murathan Özbek’s "Yanıbaşında" explores the quiet, vital bond between humans and trees.

FAAR Gallery is hosting the solo exhibition "Yanıbaşında" by artist Murathan Özbek, represented by Galeri Siyah Beyaz. Inspired by the Yves Rocher Foundation's "Plant for Life" project, the exhibition offers the viewer a new way of approaching nature. Özbek combines his cinematic narrative with the tranquil language of photography, placing the theme of trees at the center of the narrative.
In the exhibition, Özbek is accompanied in his frame by his long-time artist friend, Ekin Bernay. Bernay appears before the viewer as a figure seeking meaning within, around, and perhaps most of all, "right beside" the trees. The artist summarizes the process by saying, "I have never spoken with trees so much before." With "Yanıbaşında," the viewer witnesses this conversation in every frame, bridging the gap between looking and seeing, stopping and feeling.
