Yazz Collective Selection
Yazz Collective Selection turns the site into a slow field of perception, image and atmosphere.
When one begins to define images with words, the expression multiplies according to the moment of perception. It becomes challenging to describe the empty moments of what we produce with the crowd in our minds rather than a singular voice. Each visual expression gains meaning from the point we wish to interpret it, guided by the criteria of taste in our personal worlds, independent of the perception of time. In this sense, timelessness reflects the nature of recording the relationships, contradictions, and common points within an individual's personal interpretations.
Can we consider documenting what the collective consciousness wants to convey to us independently of the usual chronological sense of time? Can what we see and perceive be read purely, detached from the experiences taught or imposed on us by time? In this context, the selection we have brought together at Yazz Collective for Contemporary Istanbul is a reflection of the stops we create at the point where the associations in our minds meet images.
The works of the artists invited to Contemporary Istanbul invite us to pause and reflect on the connections between our thoughts and the visuals we encounter. These pieces challenge us to see beyond the imposed experiences of time, encouraging a pure, unfiltered interpretation of what is before us. This collection at Yazz Collective offers viewers a unique opportunity to engage with art in a way that transcends conventional timelines and explores the deeper, timeless connections between thought and imagery.
Ultimately, the exhibition at Yazz Collective serves as a diary of the collective consciousness, presenting a curated selection of works that highlight the interplay between individual perception and collective understanding. By removing the constraints of chronological time, the exhibition allows for a more profound exploration of the relationships, contradictions, and commonalities that define our personal and shared experiences. This timeless approach to art encourages viewers to reconsider their interpretations and appreciate the multifaceted nature of visual expression.
